FAQs

Q: How does your fee structure compare to hiring an attorney?

A: Fiscal Resolutions will cost approximately 50% less than using an attorney. For example, if a situation takes 20 hours to resolve, an attorney may charge as much as $8,500 while Fiscal Resolutions can accomplish the same outcome for $3,000. We seek to handle disputes the most economical and sensible way possible for both parties to reach a settlement.

Q: How does Fiscal Resolutions handle expenses while involved in a consultation agreement?

A: Before entering into a contract with Fiscal Resolutions, you will be given an addendum detailing all possible expenses that you, as a client, would be responsible for. Before an expense is billed, you will know up-front what the costs will be.

Q: If my company has multiple issues that need dispute resolution, how are those jobs bills?

A: Fiscal Resolutions is not looking to have hundreds of clients. We want to deal with just a handful of franchisors and companies. Discounts will be pre-arranged for handling multiple cases within a given year.

Q: If Fiscal Resolutions resolves an issue between a franchisor and franchisee, does it have to be listed in the franchise disclosure document?

A: That’s one of the good things about having Fiscal Resolutions involved before considering litigation. Issues that had been formally agreed on in business contracts will have confidentiality agreements included and will not have to be listed in your FDD (which won’t give your sales staff a hurtle to jump explaining why legal action occurred).

Q: What experience does Fiscal Resolutions have in fixing financial issues and dispute resolution?

A: Ken Gutman has worked for over 20 years with the United Franchise Group and its affiliates. His main function was to watch the company’s bottom line and resolve all issues without getting attorneys involved.

Q: How can mediation without a lawyer be a better dispute resolution?

A: Fiscal Resolutions takes a business approach to settling disputes. We sit down with both sides, analyze the situation, and offer unique options to end the disagreement, that both sides can agree on. This saves time and money by avoiding costly litigation and legal fees.

Q: How can Fiscal Resolutions improve my business model?

A: We take a close look at your finances, analyzing your expenditures and your revenue, to find ways to maximize all of your opportunities. This might involved connecting your business to partners who help you take advantage of group savings, or simply changing vendors to obtain better pricing.
